Sussex Manor House, Refurbishment

Uniting two existing properties with a three-storey extension that echoes the traditional architectural aesthetic. The finishing touches – a new pool loggia and outdoor swimming pool providing space to relax and entertain, and a residential guesthouse.

THE REQUIREMENT

Our brief: link a manor and adjoining coach house to create additional living space, remove an existing pond to build an outdoor swimming pool, and construct an accompanying loggia pool house. Finally, convert an existing outbuilding into a residential guest house.

THE OUTCOME

We created a three-storey extension to blend the two existing properties, retaining the look and feel of the original design through architectural features such as an exposed oak frame and clay tiled roof. Inside, we transformed the space, creating an Italian kitchen and dining area fitted out with marble and oak where the family can unwind. Other features include a wine cellar, boot room, bespoke staircase designed and manufactured by our joiners, and a double height entrance hall with a master suite above. To the exterior of the main residence, we constructed a traditional pool loggia building and luxury swimming pool, complete with spa and changing area and entirely refurbished an outbuilding into a premium guest house.
